A dialogue between past and present, between memories and dreams, Loco speaks to the vibrant streets of Cuba. Like the menu, the space is a reflection of a modern sense of sophistication coupled with a nostalgic romantic flamboyance.
A triptych of deep set terracotta arches front the narrow tree-lined trendy food street of Zamzama. Precisely proportioned metal windows nestled behind lush green palms and a shallow balcony above lure light deeper into the dining spaces and create a sense of theatre in the interiors. Stone flooring, Indian green marble, coloured concrete bricks and mosaic patterns are complemented by custom designed banquettes, copper and cane pendants. Irani cafe chairs draped in rouge, a Portuguese cane bench and afghan kiln strike a playful contrast to the brightly coloured prints and vintage art.
Drawing from the past but looking forward, at once glamorous and homely, the space comes together with an almost effortless eclectic aplomb.
